Construction to Begin on State-of-the-Art NASCAR Productions Facility

NASCAR has announced that construction will begin on a state-of-the-art production facility later this summer. The 58,000-square-foot space will adjacent to the NASCAR R&D Center in Concord, North Carolina.

The new facility will house approximately 125 NASCAR Productions and Motor Racing Network (MRN) employees, with additional room to expand operations. The facility will be outfitted with the latest broadcast equipment and software through a partnership with NEP Group.

“In this evolving sports media landscape, live event production and investing in technology that enhances the fan viewing experience has never been more important—it’s essential that our new workspace can facilitate that strategic growth,” said NASCAR Senior Vice President, Media, and Productions Brian Herbst.

NASCAR Productions will produce more than 500 live events in 2022, up from 200 live events in 2018. In addition, NASCAR Studios, the sanctioning body’s hub for content strategy, creation, and distribution, will also have employees based at the new facility in Concord.

Though still in the early stages of development, the new facility is expected to be fully operational by the start of the 2024 season.

A ceremonially ground-breaking event will take place on Wednesday, August 31.

NASCAR will continue to have a presence in the Uptown Charlotte area, with “a large contingent of employees” remaining in Five Fifty South (formerly NASCAR Plaza).
