MAHLE Continues Partnership with Richard Petty for “Choice of Champions” Promotion

Richard Petty and his team at Petty’s Garage will play a pivotal role in the second annual “MAHLE: The Choice of Champions” technician promotion. In addition to participating in promotional events leading up to the grand prize drawing at the 2023 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX), Petty and his team have engineered one of the two custom vehicles up for grabs – a one-of-a-kind Corvette Z06. The winner will be announced during a special ceremony at the MAHLE exhibit booth A-2661 during the 2023 AAPEX show. MAHLE Aftermarket has renewed its longstanding sponsorship with Petty’s Garage for the seventh consecutive year.

“Our partnership with ‘The King’ Richard Petty goes back many years and it’s been an exciting journey that just keeps getting better. In addition to his involvement with our ‘Choice of Champions’ promotion, his speed shop, Petty’s Garage, has custom built several engines with MAHLE parts,” said Jon Douglas, President, MAHLE Aftermarket North America. “We are looking forward to working with Petty and his team to announce the winner of the ‘MAHLE Choice of Champions’ promotion at this year’s AAPEX show and seeing how our partnership will continue to evolve.”

The Corvette Z06, engineered by Petty’s Garage exclusively for the “Choice of Champions” promotion, was completed earlier this year. It boasts a 1,000-horsepower engine, a six-speed manual transmission, and a custom rear wing and front splitter, as well as MAHLE pistons, rings, gaskets and CLEVITE bearings.

Petty is among the most accomplished drivers in the history of NASCAR. In 2010, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. His partnership with MAHLE has led to their collaboration in building several custom performance engines and cars that have been awarded to winners of MAHLE promotional contests.
