HUBB has introduced a new 8-inch spin-on oil filter to its filter portfolio. This filter is designed for use on class 2 through 6 light and medium duty diesel engines that are typically seen in hard working pickup trucks, off road equipment, agricultural vehicles, buses and other vehicles and equipment.
Compared to gasoline-powered engines, diesel engines produce more soot and combustion byproducts which end up in the crankcase. In fact, most of the contaminants trapped by the oil filter are soot and sludge – byproducts of combustion – rather than engine wear particles or dust or dirt from the environment. For that purpose, diesel engines need an oil filter that is much larger and has a higher holding capacity.
HUBB’s 8-inch oil filter features the same patented filter-in-filter design as their 3-inch filter and is made with surgical stainless steel weave filtering media and two pressure differential values for more efficient oil flow, contaminant capture and increased safety. HUBB’s 8-inch reusable and cleanable filter also helps the environment by eliminating the need to dispose of used filters in landfills. It is backed with an industry first 100,000-mile performance guarantee.
“I am excited to debut our 8-inch filter for all of my light and medium duty diesel friends,” said Christopher Hubbard, the company’s founder and chief scientist who has invested more than five years of exhaustive R&D on this product. “This filter has been designed to flow better while making your oil pump run easier and reduce engine noise. In fact, you will be able to hear the difference at idle.”
“Our 8-inch oil filter is so effective at keeping your oil clean, you can safely double the life of your oil. In fact, we guarantee it. The increased oil flow offers a compelling ROI for light and medium duty diesels,” said Scott Killips, CEO.
To back its claims of superior filtration, engine health protection, extended oil change intervals, and reduced carbon emissions, HUBB has undergone independent third party testing by Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. (ATDS) as well as extensive field testing with customers.
