Custom Camshaft Theories
If you go back to the 1900s to 1940s, the common place to start WAS the camshaft lobe. Engineers and engine designers drew one circle for the base circle, one for the nose, and then connected the two with arcs in-between. Eventually that was improved by shifting their focus to the lifter or tappet rise from the base circle.

Turbocharged and Nitrous-Assisted 6.8L Cummins Engine

Thanks to Freedom Racing Engines and Midgets Diesel Performance, among others, the turbocharged and nitrous-powered 6.8L Cummins engine was showing great signs of success. However, its now back to the drawing board for this Diesel of the Week.

If there’s anything all of us in this industry have come to understand, it’s that you can never be certain someone else did the job correctly – and when it comes to crankshafts and crank kits that you or a customer might purchase, it’s imperative to ensure a proper balance job was performed and not just trust that it was because it says so.
