Federal-Mogul Announces Enhanced Organization for North American Aftermarket

The company has appointed Bob Egan to the position of vice president, customer relations for the global aftermarket. Egan will report to Jay Burkhart, senior vice president, global aftermarket, in his new position. The change is effective immediately.

“Bob will assume responsibility for the development of our strategic partnerships with our key customers worldwide,” said Burkhart. “Bob’s extensive experience in the aftermarket industry makes him uniquely suited for this new role.”

Egan has been with Federal-Mogul for 31 years. Before coming to Federal-Mogul, Egan spent 12 years at Chrysler Corp. in a number of sales and marketing management positions. He is currently chairman of the board of Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation. Previously, Egan was chairman of the Automotive Sales Council and is a past chairman of the Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association and Business Forum. In 2008, Egan was honored with AWDA’s Leader of the Year Award. Egan holds an MBA from the University of Detroit and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

The company also announced that Paul Johnson joins Federal-Mogul as vice president, North America, global aftermarket. He assumes the position formerly held by Egan. Johnson will report directly to Burkhart and will be located at the Federal-Mogul World Headquarters in Southfield, Mich.

Johnson most recently held the position of general director, ACDelco. During his career with General Motors, Johnson held positions of increasing responsibility in aftersales, product management, business development and finance. Johnson led the establishment of the automotive parts procurement center in Shanghai, China. He earned a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from The University of Michigan.

“We are excited to have Paul join the Federal-Mogul team. He is an accomplished professional with experience in successfully growing a large and complex aftermarket business. His leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow the Federal-Mogul portfolio in a rapidly changing marketplace. Our goal is to provide customers with the best products and brands, driven by enhanced category analysis, world-class customer service and supply chain management,” said Burkhart.

In addition, the following new functions have been added to the North American sales and marketing organization, reporting to Johnson: category insight and analysis; customer transaction services; and customer supply chain planning. Individual appointments to these roles will be announced shortly, the company said.
