One of the most exciting events at PRI this year will take place outside the exhibit halls of the racing trade show. With Red Bull as the title sponsor and a driving force, stars from NASCAR, IndyCar, ALMS, Grand-Am, NHRA and other series will compete in one of the most unique and star-studded races on the annual motorsport calendar.
The fifth edition of the popular race takes place Thursday night, December 1, 2011, in Orlando, FL. The race course is a tight, technical, purpose-built race track adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center, housing the 700,000-square-foot PRI Trade Show.
Kart racers must use a Rotax engine, a set of Bridgestone YKC tires and five gallons of VP Fuel MS-93.
More details, including announcements of this year’s participants in the Red Bull Kart Fight will be unveiled at a later date.
Entry forms for the Red Bull Kart Fight are now available. Over 800 kart racing businesses in the Performance Racing Industry data base were sent entry forms, in addition to all kart racing media. Teams can also apply for the race online at www.motorsportsreg.com.
"This is one of the biggest karting events of the year, so we wanted to get the word everywhere right away that team entry forms are available," said Steve Lewis, producer of the Performance Racing Industry Trade Show. "In the past, we have gotten the best of the best as competitors for the kart race at the PRI Trade Show, so we’re getting the entire karting segment of motorsports involved in the process!"
