Headquartered in Cleveland, OH, Mallory will furnish a portion of the point fund to be paid to top 10 drivers in final 2012 standings for each region. All drivers in the division are required to display two Mallory decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.
The Mallory Northern Region includes sanctioned tracks in CO, IL, IA,KS, MN, MO, NE, ND, SD and WI. Mallory Southern Region tracks are in CA, NM, OK, UT and TX.
“With all our brands, we are looking to give back to the grassroots racer,” said Prestolite Performance Marketing Manager Jill Hepp, noting Mallory’s 87-year history in motorsports. “We want to get back to what is really our heritage and show our support for drivers at local dirt tracks.”
ACCEL, Lakewood and Mr. Gasket are also part of the Prestolite Performance program; awards from Lakewood and Mr. Gasket are new to IMCA this season.
“The combination of brands under the Prestolite Performance umbrella are very recognizable names in the racing industry and each is well respected,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “The partnership with Mallory certainly is the headliner for our Stock Car division but anyone competing with these products will benefit from a program significantly increased from last season. I urge our Modified, Stock Car and Late Model members to look into their ignition products and make sure they get registered for their awards when they make a purchase.”
