Callies Performance Products has announced an expanded LS and LT crankshaft offering to include a fully counter-weighted Compstar LSx8 Forged crank in 3.625˝ and 4.000˝ stroke.

The Compstar LSx8 crankshaft is produced from forged 4340 and finished by American craftsmen in Fostoria, OH to provide its customers a value driven option for their engine building needs. Every crankshaft goes through a multi-faceted inspection and finishing process at Callies.

This Compstar LSx8 crank joins the established 100% American made Callies Ultra Billet and Forged Magnum fully counterweighted crank families. These cranks are produced in Ohio with Timken Aircraft Grade Para-Premium steel. The Ultra Billet starts with a custom specification 4330 variant billet steel and strokes and main sizes are produced to order. Magnum LS cranks are forged 4340 steel with strokes from 3.00˝ to 4.500˝.

The supercharger utilizes the largest, most-efficient rotating group produced by Eaton, the TVS2650.

Harrop has released its innovative TVS2650 Supercharger Kit for the Ford 7.3L Godzilla engine. The supercharger utilizes the largest, most-efficient rotating group produced by Eaton, the TVS2650 and has an inverted design increasing the plenum volume to maximize performance.

The front drive / front inlet design allows for a shorter less restrictive intake path allowing for improved airflow and superior performance. Like all Harrop products, the TVS2650 for the Ford 7.3 Godzilla is expertly assembled by qualified supercharger technicians to ISO9001 quality standards, before being individually tested in-house on a dynamometer to ensure reliability and durability.

Carrillo Forged Pistons and Connecting Rods for Ford 7.3L Godzilla

These pistons are forged from 2618T aluminum alloy and machined on dedicated CNC machine cells to tight tolerances. 2618 aluminum has a lower silicon content than other alloys. That makes the pistons stronger and more ductile—perfect for high-load, high-stress applications like superchargers, turbochargers, or nitrous oxide.  Related Articles – Fluidampr Harmonic Damper from Summit Racing

Fluidampr Harmonic Damper from Summit Racing Equipment

The factory harmonic damper on your modern GM, Ford, or Mopar V8 are ‘tuned’ to absorb what’s called torsional vibration in the engine’s normal operating RPM range. Performance modifications, particularly ones that increase torque, produce added vibration in an RPM range that the elastomer damper wasn’t designed to handle. That vibration will accelerate component wear,

Crankshaft Counterweights

Most engines are internally balanced, meaning all weight adjustment is done on the crankshaft counterweights. However, some stock and modified engines require external balancing due to an increased stroke or larger pistons, and the crankshaft counterweights that would be required to offset the increased inertia simply don’t fit inside the crankcase.
