K1 Technologies’ 7.3L Ford Godzilla Connecting Rod

With Ford’s highly touted 7.3L “Godzilla” engine now available, many Blue Oval enthusiasts are contemplating employing it in a variety of applications. For those seeking to amp up the engine’s power for competition, K1 Technologies has developed a robust H-beam connecting rod to handle the increased stresses.

K1’s engineering team has designed a proven H-beam forging for the 4340 chrome moly material that additionally offers increased strength and durability through better-aligned grain flow. The forging is precision machined and shot-peened to reduce potential stress risers and improve service life. The rod length is 6.319” center-to-center.

Added durability is assured through the use of premium ARP2000 rod bolts, which are nominally rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength and facilitate the higher clamping loads necessary for total reliability in competition applications.
